The tooth fairy came!

A few weeks ago, Brody came up to me and said he thought his tooth was loose. The boy has been waiting to lose a tooth for the past 2 years! I wiggled it, and it wasn't loose at all. But, while I was in there wiggling it, I noticed that his permanent teeth were growing up behind! I called the dentist office, and they told me to go ahead and bring him in for x-rays so they could see what the roots looked like. The dentist said there was no sign of those teeth coming out on their own, so we made an appointment to have them pulled!

We hadn't really talked about what was going to happen, because I honestly didn't know. I knew he wouldn't feel it, but beyond that, I was just as unprepared as he was. He asked me in the car on the way there, "So, what exactly are they going to do?"

He was so brave! They numbed his whole mouth and he laid on the chair for about 40 minutes before the dentist came in. Then, 2 seconds later, they were out!

And here's the after! He had just gotten out of bed! You can see his fat lip on the left a little bit...

Unfortunately, he stayed numb for a good 4 hours after the appointment. He kept biting at his lip on one side, which resulted in a pretty fat lip. I'm hoping it heals up quickly!

He was so excited to have the tooth fairy come! He got 2 gold $1 coins plus a $5 bill for being so brave at the dentist! It was hard for me to watch him there getting the shots and everything, so I felt a little generous after that!
