--It dawned on me that I had not announced on my blog that Julie and Billy are having twins! We found out last week that it will be a girl and a boy! We're excited for them, and we're excited to get some baby cousins! This will be a first for my kids because they are younger than their other cousins!
--We got more snow last weekend (the 24th)! I think it's out of here for good, finally! Having a late winter is rough! My company had mowed each property at least one time, some twice by this time last year. This year, we won't start for at least a couple weeks. What a difference a year makes! We took advantage of the one last snow to get some more sledding in, even though it was cold and windy! The kids were over the snow. They each only went down the hill a few times and were ready to go home.
--I put a proposal together to rearrange my work schedule, and it was not approved. I understand why, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I wanted to work from 9-3 in the office and supplement with work from home in the evenings and on weekends. They did allow me to come in later (at 9:00) and take a shorter lunch. Which works for now. It's nice giving the kids time to wake up in the morning rather than drag them out of bed and into the car like we did before. That will give me the opportunity to take them to school in the morning next year so that we don't have to find before school care. My company did let me know that they would be open to making my position part time if I wanted to adjust my responsibilities and pay. We're looking at our budget to see if it would be worthwhile. I'm hoping that with the reduced day care cost, it will be a break even. I think 2 extra hours in the afternoon/evening will make a big difference. Right now, there are not enough hours in the evening for us to do more than eat dinner and take baths and have the kids in bed by 8:00. I don't know when we'll be able to work in homework and after school activities at this rate.
--My mom came to visit last week. She got in late Tuesday night, spent all day Wednesday with Julie (they had their ultrasound) and then she took the kids to the lake on Thursday and Friday. That deserves a post all on it's own. Basically everything that could go wrong, did. Hopefully the next time she decides to take them alone will go better. It's been a while since she's been alone with a 3 & 5 year old (outside of my house), and I don't think she was ready. Those 2 keep you on your toes!
--Heath is going to start his MBA program very soon. He's getting officially enrolled this month. That was another driving factor for me to try to go part time. He's going to be gone one night a week and have school work to do (on top of the many hours he already spends working at night). He's been encouraged by his manager to get on it, and I'm proud of him for doing it.
--Brody started soccer again last weekend. It was raining, so I didn't bring a big camera with me, but I did catch a few pictures on my iPhone. He's on a new team this season with kids that will go to his elementary school. He did a lot better this time compared to last year. I think he's finally getting it, and maybe he's matured a little bit.
He's #26 here:
I think that's about all...I'll be back with a couple Easter posts (soon, I hope).
