Last days...

It was HOT again on Friday, so we headed down to the Shedd Aquarium for the day, along with every other visitor in town for the 4th! My dad said that I had been there, but I sure don't remember, so it was another on my list of things that we hadn't done before. The kids enjoyed it!

There was a special Jelly Fish exhibit that was really cool!

The kids favorite fish was Nemo, of course!
And this pretty much sums up how they felt after the aquarium!

We planned to do a little shopping on Michigan Avenue after the aquarium, so we went to get our car and drove and parked at Water Tower. $50 in parking for the day...it beat taking the train and walking, I guess! We sort of snacked through lunch, so we were pretty hungry! Both of the kids passed out in the strollers a few minutes after starting out walk, so we shopped at Bloomingdale's home store for a few minutes while they got a nap in. Then, we settled on eating a late lunch/early dinner at Su Casa...a downtown favorite of ours!
By the time we got home, we were all a little hungry again, and my dad hadn't eaten, so we ordered some pizza!

On Saturday, we had Emily's graduation party. I made some Pioneer Woman salsa and Feta Black Bean dip. She had Italian Beef and Italian Sausage catered in, and they were so good! I wish we had a good Italian Beef place here. It might be one of my favorites! The kids swam for most of the party and we decided that we need a pool in our next house!

On Sunday we hit the road. It was sad to leave after such a fun week! I could have stayed a couple more days. The trip home was a little more leisurely than the trip there. We didn't get on the road until 9:00 and stopped for lunch.

When we got home, the kids were excited to be back. They even hugged the house! So cute!

I can't believe our summer vacation came and went! Until next year...
