All-Star Week

A couple years ago, when the announcement came out that Kansas City would host the 2012 All-Star Game, Heath decided he was going to be there. We talked about getting season tickets to ensure we got tickets, but we never ended up with them. Luckily, a friend of ours did have season tickets and got offers for friends to buy tickets. We jumped on it and got 2 Standing Room Only tickets. They weren't cheap, and I don't think I'll ever buy Standing Room Only tickets again (my legs were a little tired after the All-Star Game), but I'm so glad we got the chance to go.

On our way back into town on Sunday, we decided to drive through downtown to check out the blue fountains near Bartle Hall where they were holding the Fan Fest. The kids got a kick out of it!

We missed the Fan Fest and Futures Game due to our trip, but on Monday, Heath took Brody to the Home Run Derby. They had a great time, but Brody's little legs got a little tired from all of the standing and walking.

When they got into the stadium, they headed straight for the merchandise store and ran into this guy...David Glass! Owner of the Royals.

On Tuesday, I got to go to the All Star Game with Heath. At first, I sort of didn't want to go because of the cost of the ticket, but after realizing all of the hype, I decided that I wanted to go with him. And we had a blast. We met up with some friends who also had SRO tickets and hung out with them in the Rivals Sports Bar for most of the game.

I was really excited to try some of the special food they had for the All-Star Game. I got the Cheesy Corn Brisket Nachos. They were good...but a little too much for me! They had cheesy corn, baked beans, cole slaw and brisket on tortilla chips.

Our view wasn't the best, but it was still a good time. It was fun to see Billy Butler hit! I really wish he would have hit a home run, just to rub it in!
