Father's Day

Heath was feeling a little sick over the weekend, so we didn't do a whole lot for Father's Day. I can't sleep past 6:00 most days, so since I was the only one up, I brushed my teeth and headed up to Quik Trip to get Heath a big diet coke and some donuts for breakfast. I offered to make something special, but all he wanted was donuts. Fine with me...no dishes :)

Madelyn and I headed to mass while Brody and Heath stayed home in their PJs. When we got home, Heath said that Brody wanted to wash the cars. He's talked about it every weekend for a few weeks now, so it was time to get it done.

After they were done, they came in to eat some lunch and Madelyn took a nap. When she woke up we went out to Heath's mom and dad's for dinner. I made Jack Stack cheesy corn (recipe to come, soon) and Punch Bowl Cake (recipe coming soon for that, too).

We got there a little early in the afternoon, so the kids played in the pool with Nicholas and Garrett. After dinner we looked at pictures and videos from Heath's dad's recent Canada fishing trip.

I think Heath had a pretty good day despite not feeling well! I outdid myself by planning a trip to St. Louis to see the Royals play the Cardinals for Father's Day last year! I think it's going to be kind of hard to beat that one!
