Brody has loved baseball since he could first show affection towards something. When he was about 2 years old he picked up how to pitch, swing a bat and run the bases by just watching the TV with Heath.
We jumped the gun a little bit and signed him up for a
future all stars class the first chance we had when he turned 3. He wasn't ready for it at all. He had a hard time waiting for his turn and following the teacher's instructions, so we decided to wait until he had a year of preschool under his belt before we signed him up for anything else. I sort of waited too long and missed the opportunities for him to play actual t-ball with games and everything. Oops! It's on the calendar for next JANUARY!
Someone in the moms group mentioned that the Olathe instructional baseball is really good, so I got him signed up for a 6-week session to get a feel for it. He had his first class on Friday night, and he did great! They started off with all the kids running the bases, stretching and then playing catch with their parent. At the end of the class, the kids ran the bases again and came together for an "I love baseball" chant! We're pretty excited about the program and think that it will be good for Brody to really get a feel for the game and be ready when it's time to have games.
