LOW- This October marks 6 years of living in our house. For some reason, this year is the year that everything breaks! We've put quite a bit of
We got a pretty nice tax return, big enough to finally get my car paid off. I was so excited to finally get rid of the car payment, until everything started breaking. And we're not just talking $50-$100 repairs...we're talking $1000s. First was the furnace. The fan just started turning on randomly when the thermostat was off. We talked to an HVAC guy and he gave us some things to try to see if we could correct the problem (possibly get away with only replacing a wire or the thermostat). None of his fixes worked, so he sent a tech out and he determined that we probably need to replace. Ugh...there was something about blowing and flames and that was enough for me to say just do it. So, within a week, we have a shiny new furnace and water heater. We'd needed that for a while, but we were trying to hold our for a tankless. At this point, the price tag is just too much, so we went with the regular old tank water heater for about a quarter of the price. While they were there, they added 2 lbs of freon to the AC. I just hope it holds out through the summer. (Actually, what I'm really hoping for is another hail storm that will do just enough damage to the siding and the AC to get some insurance money to replace, not really, but after getting our roof last year, it's hard not to hope!)
So, in addition to those doozies...Heath needs a new weedeater and mower. They are much cheaper than the furnace, but still...a couple hundred dollars that is not going to my car. I'm just waiting for something else to break.
HIGH- Yesterday marked 1 month of being back at Jazzercise. Yay! I got recognized this morning for it being my 25th class. Which means, besides taking Sundays off, I have only skipped 2 days this entire month! And...I'm down another lb! 6 lbs total for the month! It's amazing what can happen if you just pay attention! 2 months until swim suit season and I think I'm in pretty good shape to feel comfortable in my swim suit. I might just go for the full 2 piece. I've been going the tankini route since Madelyn was born.
On another positive note, we are looking forward to another beautiful weekend! I swear my house will never get cleaned again if we keep having nice weather :)
Happy weekend everyone!
