Yay! Madelyn slept without a binky last night! And it wasn't as traumatic as I pictured it being. She's got a pretty bad cold, and was up quite a bit on Monday night. Heath stayed home with her yesterday, and in one of her digging in the pantry stints, she lost it. I found it in the oatmeal box this morning when I was getting my breakfast! We looked for it last night and couldn't find it. We thought it was a great opportunity to have her give it up since she can't breathe through her nose anyways. She fell asleep in less than 30 minutes and stayed asleep until 5:40 this morning! (which is her usual wake up time)
Someone told me to take it away at 9 months. I tried it one night and decided that we all weren't ready. Then, I sort of made a goal of not letting her keep it past her 2nd birthday. Well, her birthday is 2 weeks from today, and she is binky free! She didn't ask about it this morning, but I can't guarantee that tonight is going to go perfectly...I'm sure we'll have a few rough nights ahead, but we're not looking back!
