Kaleidoscope

On Saturday, we ventured up to Crown Center with Heath's mom and dad, Christie and her boys, Nicholas and Garrett. It was a great way to spend the rainy Saturday! We got up there at lunch time, so after perusing the Crayola store for a few minutes, we had lunch at the Crayola Cafe! It was really good! Brody and I had been there before, but nobody else had ever been. I got the turkey meatloaf sandwich, and it was fantastic! It was my first meatloaf sandwich experience, and I was not disappointed.

We colored while we waited for our food. Because what else do you do at the Crayola Cafe?

They were filming a Crown Center promo video while we were there and they gave us a free chocolate sundae for participating! They filmed the waiter bringing it to our table and the kids digging in! We signed a release, so you may see us on a commercial soon!

Brody was trying to show me how messy his mouth was. He always thinks his face is a lot messier than it is...so cute!

Madelyn's face on the other hand, is always messy!

After lunch, we headed downstairs to an animal exhibit. We have come to a few of these exhibits before. They are always packed. Before we come again, I am going to find out when it is less crowded. I'm guessing during the week is the best time to come.

After playing for a few minutes, we made our way across the street to Kaleidoscope. It was the first time we had been, and I wasn't very impressed. Between the low lighting and the amount of people there, I was glad that the admission price was free. I think our kids are still too young for it. I think it's best for elementary aged kids. Brody was overwhelmed and Madelyn couldn't reach anything. We'll try it again in a few years. It was hard to get good pictures because if the lighting...lots of shadows!

The kids spent the night at Dave and Melody's so that Heath and I could celebrate my birthday. Nicholas and Garrett ended up spending the night, too! Brody had his class pet, Polar Pete with him for the weekend, so we made sure to get a picture to share with his classmates.
