Well, I'm 2 days short of a month-long blog hiatus. The conference I've been planning for work is over. Hooray! It went great, I had a lot of fun planning it, and definitely learned a lot. If it weren't for the long hours, I think event planning would be a great job for me, but with little kids at home, it wouldn't be ideal. Besides securing the sponsorship and speakers, I was a one-woman show. I planned and organized everything from transportation, to meals, to an outdoor equipment showcase, facility tour, name tags...you name it, I probably did it. I'm definitely glad that it's over. I put 58 hours in the first 3 days this week and did see the kids from Monday morning to Wednesday evening. Not fun, but daddy did a great job. He even had Madelyn's hair in pig tails one day!
I have so many things to blog about from the past month, and I hope to get to work on it this weekend. The only thing on the agenda is Brody's football game tomorrow morning. In the meantime, though...I thought I'd get a little bit caught up with a phone dump!

| Brody's homework each week keeps us disciplined, that's for sure! He gets a folder full of homework which is due on Fridays. With our evening activities and Heath's school, we've got to plan ahead to get the homework done each week. He's doing so great academically so far in kindergarten! |
| A few weeks back, we went to the grand opening of our friends' new restaurant called, District. If you are in Kansas City, please go check it out! It's in the heart of Waldo at 71st Wornall. Great food and great atmosphere. |
| We pulled out the halloween outfit a little early. I usually wait until October 1st, but there's no reasoning with this one. It's her way or the highway these days. She caught a glimpse of it in the closet, and she had to wear it. I think this pic was from September 13th or something! |
| Speaking of this little stubborn lady...she insisted on painting her own toenails. |
| We went to a bonfire and hayride to kick off fall with my mom's group. This is the 3rd year in a row that our family has done this particular thing, and we loved it just as much this year! The first time we did it for Brody's 4th birthday party. |
| Little Max! |
| Brody with cousin Macie! |
| I took this photo in September at Macy's. They are already getting ready for the holidays. TOO EARLY! |
| Picture Day! Can't wait to get their photos back. I have a feeling we might be getting retakes for Brody, though. He got in the car after school with his K-State necklace on. Heath asked him if he wore it for pictures and he said, "Yeah, they fixed it for me!" He apparently had it in his backpack and pulled it out for pictures. |
| Halloween decorations are out! |
| OK, it's hard to tell from this picture, but this is a major Pintersest FAIL. I saw this cute burlap football a few years back and have wanted to make it ever since. I had some extra burlap, and a free weekend day, so I decided to make it. Well, apparently you can't sew burlap with twine and expect it to keep the filling in, or look decent. I probably could have salvaged it, but instead, I threw it away. It sat on our table for a week or so before I decided to give up. |
| Love this stuff! Can't have coffee in October without some sugar free pumpkin spice creamer! |
| Madelyn looked so cute all dressed up for church a few weeks back! |
| And this is our new baby. We're calling her "the mothership", or "muddership" if you're Brody! |
| I'm a big fan. Back up camera, bluetooth, dvd player, satellite radio...by far the nicest car I've ever owned! And, it came in pretty handy earlier this week for my event! I had 5 men in there, and everyone said they were comfortable. |
| Here we are leaving the dealership! The kids LOVE it! |
| Last weekend Max and Macie were baptized! I have a lot of other pictures that I'll share in a separate post. I didn't get any good pictures with my phone. |
| Silly Brody! It's lettuce in case you're wondering! |
| We made it to the pumpkin patch last weekend! One of my very favorite fall activities! |
| And I made Chili for the first time. YUM! |
| Part of the event I planned included a tour of Kauffman stadium. That was a big hit. This is the view from the press box. |
| Last night we heard the marching band so we hopped in the car to go see what we could see. They were practicing, so we stopped to watch for a little bit. |
| I signed up for Door to Door organics. Last week I was so preoccupied with work stuff, that I forgot to go in and make substitutions for my delivery. I ended up with an acorn squash. We're going to try it with butter and brown sugar. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it! |
Have a great weekend! I know we will!
