First, the babies are doing great! Julie will be discharged from the hospital today and move to another room where she will plan to stay until they send the babies home. They are letting her stay for $10 a night as long as they have a room open. That will be good for her since she is pumping every 3 hours. And, she's able to hold each baby for an hour during each shift, (so 2 hours per baby). She doesn't want to miss her opportunity to hold them, and I don't blame her. I can't wait until they get home so I can get my turn. I'm already planning to spend my lunch breaks at her house every day after they are home. Luckily, her house is less than 5 minutes from my office.
My mom flies in tomorrow afternoon. I'm sure we'll head straight to the hospital to see the babies. She can't wait to see them! Then, she'll stay with us. The kids are really excited to see their grandma!
Madelyn started at the new daycare this week! She's doing ok. The first morning I felt so bad because I just left her in the middle of the room. She was so nervous and just standing there twirling her hair, but there were no tears that day. Day 2 was a little more difficult. I left her in the room then I saw her from Brody's class room with the biggest frown and tears in her eyes. I went and helped her find something to play with. Then Day 3 was ok. She went with her teacher to get something and she was good. Day 4 was the worst. I realized I was dropping her in the wrong classroom, so when I took her into the right one, she SCREAMED and clung to me. When I left I could hear her screaming from the front lobby. :( Luckily, Brody with his big heart, walked over and invited his sister to come play with him. She calmed down and had a good rest of the day. Then today was good. They told me that I could drop her off with Brody until she's comfortable and they'll get her when her teacher arrives.
We decided to put Brody back into pull ups. He was doing really good for a while, waking up dry most days, but recently (about the time he started at the new daycare, maybe) he started wetting the bed more frequently, and now it is every night. I've tried really hard to not get frustrated, but I've had about enough. I've started to take him to the chiropractor to see if she can help. So far, it isn't helping, but it could take a while. We've only had 2 visits. I also checked out a book from the library from the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding bedwetting. It's a fun read, and I quickly realized that we're expecting too much from him. Apparently bedwetting isn't considered a problem until they are 6, so since we're not quite there yet, I asked Brody what he wanted to do, and he chose pull ups. Fine with me. I'm sick of washing the sheets every day!!! Today, he woke himself up at 4:30 to go to the bathroom! He still had a wet pull up, but that's progress! He's also been having some behavior issues at school, and after reading a little bit of that book, I think that there may be a connection between the bedwetting. Probably a small chance, but I'm hoping that not making him stress about it will help.
When I was at the library getting the bedwetting book, I saw that Nicholas Sparks had a newer book out that I have not read, so I checked it out. I haven't even started it yet, and I got an e-mail this morning that Gone Girl was available and waiting for me! I put that on hold months ago! So now I have a plethora of reading to do. I'm trying to spend less time on the internet, and more time reading. I find myself looking at the same facebook posts twice or playing Candy Crush (WHY did I load that game???).
I might have already mentioned this, but the 10 lbs I worked so hard to lose before Disneyland creeped back in after Disneyland. I only made it to Jazzercise 2 times so far this week, but I'm ready to get back on track. It's just a fact that if I do not workout consistently, I will gain weight. I just need to face it and stay on track. I'm glad that I am at a point that I recognize when I've gained weight. Ugh. Good thing I really like Jazzercise. Just wish the only class that I can make it too wasn't at 5:40 in the morning. And it doesn't help that I really love food.
It's hard to believe that school starts in 4 short weeks! I can't believe that Brody will be a Kindergartner and Madelyn is in preschool! The summer is flying by.
Ok, I think that is all that's on my mind. Happy Friday! Cinderella is coming today, so that's exciting! (Her company name is Cinderella's Broom, so we say Cinderella is coming :)
Here are a few phone pics I have from the past 2 weeks. They are in order from most recent.
In the car on the way home from seeing the babies. She lost her pair in the lake last weekend, and I was able to replace them. She was thrilled and insisted on on wearing them.
Waiting for the fireworks in Kimberling City on Saturday.
Brody found Uncle Moo and Uncle Ethan's Ninja Turtles at the lake house! Cowabunga!
Brody, Madelyn and Allie at the lake after showers.
Brody at his first Chiropractor appointment.
Last Wednesday, I just happened to be near the only Runza in Kansas City at lunch time. I had to stop. This Nebraska girls stomach was happy!
Last weekend, we freshened up our landscaping out front. We had lost some shrubs and the others were looking pretty gnarly. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. That little tree on the left is a tinkerbell lilac. I think it will take 2 to 3 years before I get flowers, which is sort of a bummer.
Julie had a BBQ for Billy's birthday a few weeks back. The kids had fun playing with all of the other babies.
Brody went to his friend's birthday party, and they had a real pinata form Mexico! It was an awesome party!
