Our California Adventure Part 5: Newport Beach

After leaving Laguna, we traveled north to Newport Beach. A lady I do some business with told me that if I wanted idyllic California, I needed to go here. So we did. We got burgers and corn dogs from Pipeline and we found an open picnic bench to eat. After lunch, we changed into our swim suits and spread out in the sand. Madelyn wasn't crazy about being near the water (it was pretty cold), but Brody had a blast playing along the shore. They didn't want to leave (and neither did I), but we had to get back to get ready for the baseball game later that night. At first I had planned to head north, towards Santa Monica, and I'm so glad that I didn't. I saw some pictures, and it gets pretty crowded! We could have had our pick of location on Newport Beach (finding a parking spot was tough!).
