Good Sunday morning! We are enjoying a lazy morning today, and I think everyone is thankful. Brody asked me if we were going to stay home all day! I think he's a little worn out from our big day yesterday. Around noon yesterday, we headed to Manhattan for the K-State season opener! We had so much fun and got to see a lot of old friends. I was sort of worried that we weren't going to make it to any games this year. With our new Saturday routine of Soccer games and ballet class, this weekend was the only one that worked for us, but the game was sold out! When someone posted tickets at Heath's work last week, we jumped at the chance and bought the tickets!
This was Brody's 3rd game, and Madelyn's 2nd. We took Brody to his first when he was just under a year old, and then we went to a game for Brody's 3rd birthday when Madelyn was about 8 months old. It seems like just yesterday, we were going to the games as students! I was walking the kids to the bathroom at one point, and I couldn't help but wonder how the past 7 years have gone so fast!
When we got there, we met up with my friend Kelli and her husband Chris and their family. They had a spot not far from the stadium.
It was really hot, so Brody camped out in the shade between the cars for a while!
Madelyn and her little friend, Kennedy. Kennedy is so sweet! She is 8 months younger than Madelyn.
Another sorority sister, Katie and her family stopped by. They've lived in Vegas since college, and just recently moved back to the midwest. We found out that in December they are moving back to Kansas City and will live about a mile from us! It was the first time we've met her daughter, Harper and their brand new baby Logan! She's about a year older than Madelyn, but we'll definitely get together to play when they move to town!
We also saw Karen!
We went into the game before the game began. I'm so mad that I missed the fight song and alma mater because I went in the wrong entrance. They are doing some construction, so I couldn't get through to our seats from the place I went in.
We had 6 tickets, so another sorority sister, Sarah and her husband (who also works at Signature) sat with us with their sweet baby, McKenzie.
At half time, we went back out to the tailgate. Madelyn and I stayed out for the rest of the game.
I;m bummed that I never got a family picture, but we had a great time, and we're so glad we had the chance to go!
