Last weekend

I took a little unanticipated break from the blog there. I've just been busy. Busy both at work and at home. The last evening I spent at home was on Monday night. Tuesday I had a moms group thing, Wednesday I had a work social hour that we sponsored and yesterday Heath played softball and we went to watch. And then tonight we are going to a wedding downtown...whew! Talk about needing a break. Tomorrow we have very little that we have to do. Brody has a birthday party at an inflatable place and there are a couple other things we might try to do, but nothing that we have to do. I love that.

So let's start back with last Friday night. We went to a birthday party for our friends, Dan and Jenny, which was really a pregnancy announcement party! We couldn't be more excited for them! Jenny was so clever...she had non-alcoholic pink lemonade and then a "baby" blue cocktail already mixed in some mason jars. She also had some pink and blue cupcakes. I didn't even pick up on it even though another friend said she thought they were going to announce it. When she came out to let everyone know that dinner was ready, she was carrying a large bottle of champagne and announced that in addition to celebrating their birthdays, we were also celebrating their pregnancy! So fun!

Then on Saturday, Brody went to his classmate's birthday party at the rec center. She had a 50's sock hop party and it was so cute! She had white t-shirts for all the boys and pink poodle skirts for the girls. She also made cupcakes that looked like milk shakes and root beer floats for the kids. Then they spent an hour dancing, hula hooping and doing the Limbo. Such a fun party!

That was about it for our weekend. We ran lots of errands and Heath went hunting with our neighbor, Jim on Sunday near Emporia, but they didn't get anything.

On Wednesday, I shared a day in my life on Ashley's blog. Check it out!
