Easter Eve

Saturday was sort of a whirlwind of cleaning, cooking, a birthday party, egg dying and cookie decorating! We started the day by getting the house clean! The kids cooperated and Heath was a big help. The weather has been so nice for the past couple of weeks, so I've sort of put housekeeping at the bottom of my to do list! It happened to be rainy and overcast on Saturday morning which was perfect! Brody had a birthday party for one of his preschool classmates in the afternoon, and I accompanied him to that. He was having so much fun that he didn't even want to eat a cupcake. After almost 2 hours of bounce house fun, he wasn't ready to be done. He kept escaping the party room...

After we got home, we dyed our Easter eggs and decorated sugar cookies! I saw this trick on Pinterest to bake the eggs instead of boil them...it worked PERFECT! Easy to peel, no grey yolk! I will never hard boil an egg again. I put mine in a muffin tin instead of straight on the rack. I figured if it ended up being a total failure, at least the mess would be easy to clean up!

Somebody got a little overzealous with the sugar...

After all the fun, I made my food for Sunday, cheesy potato casserole and Grandma Schilf's beans! After that was all done, the Easter Bunny did his thing...more on that in the next post!
