Last weekend

Before Christmas comes and goes, I want to do one more catch up post to cover the past weekend!

On Friday night, Julie offered to watch the kids for a few hours so we could go to our friends' Christmas party. She was having some of her friends over, including Aimee and her girls, Piper and Willow. Piper and Madelyn are just a couple weeks apart. Aimee and Julie have been friends since we moved here and Aimee was actually a Kappa Delta at K-State with me!
Doesn't Piper have such pretty eyes? She's a doll!

Eating popcorn and watching Tangled!

The girls at Amanda's party. We didn't stay long, so I'm sure I missed quite a few people. I'm so short...guess the Uggs don't help!
On Saturday morning after swimming lessons, we went up to Union Station and Crown Center to see the Holiday Express train and have lunch. It was crazy! I think we are going to skip out of the Holiday Express for a few years and hit Crown Center a little earlier in the season next year! I love going up there over the holidays, but I will probably avoid the week before Christmas from now on.

Brody with a penguin. Madelyn wouldn't go near him!

We stopped at the candy store!

Brody and Madelyn. I got them to stop for a quick picture. It was hard to get them both in one place out there!

On Saturday night we went to our friends' birthday ugly sweater pub crawl! They rented a bus to take them around to a bunch of dive bars in the Waldo area. This year we took it easy and only went to the first 3 stops before heading home because we wanted to be in good shape for Brody's concert on Sunday morning.
I didn't take many pictures at the sweater party...Heath with Travis and Mike.

Some of the girls.

I already posted about Brody's concert...after we finished our donuts after the concert we ran out to finish our Christmas and grocery shopping. As much as I didn't want to, I skipped out on my friend's cookie party. My recipe calls for the dough to be refrigerated for 24 hours...I had planned to put it in the freezer for a little bit instead, but once we got going on Christmas shopping, I decided it was best to just skip the party. I'm planning to make those cookies for Santa instead!

Sunday evening Heath had to go to his mom and dads to help get their house ready for their new carpet, so the kids and I decorated our Candy Cottage! Brody chose the red frosting. I didn't go crazy on the candy this year. Just stuck with M&Ms, gum drops and mini candy canes. Madelyn was all into the decorating, but Brody was too tired and watched a movie for most of the time. Until he realized I had sprinkles to put on...that was his contribution!
I think she ate as many "nandies" as she put on the house!

A view of Madelyn's work.

Brody adding his sprinkles!
And I think that covers the weekend...stay tuned for a post about Brody's preschool party! I made the snacks and they turned out really cute!
