I wanted to share some photos from our trip to Chicago and Thanksgiving last week! I have been having trouble finding time to blog. I think that part of that is because I'm hardly on the computer anymore at home since I got my new iPad (Thanks mom and dad!)! I am going to break this out into 3 different posts because there are just so many pictures to share!
We left Kansas City at 4:30 last Wednesday afternoon. Heath took the day off, so he had the kids fed and in their PJs by the time I got home from work. (I have no vacation days left until the end of February, so I had to work a full day.)
We got on the road and made pretty good time. The kids were great! Both of them fell asleep about 9:45, which is later than usual, but it wasn't too bad. Around 11:00 we stopped to get some caffeine and I took over driving until we got to my mom and dad's at 1:00 am! It was a pretty smooth drive. I was sort of nervous because we saw quite a few dead deer, and a couple live ones along the road. There was a 25 mile stretch of I-80 where we didn't see another Eastbound car! It was sort of scary! Especially with how dark it was out there!
On Thursday we celebrated Thanksgiving at my mom and dad's with Aunt Susie and Uncle Mark and their kids, Uncle Billy and Aunt Mary and 2 of their kids, Grandma and Charlie and Uncle Mark's dad. We had quite the group! We were split between 3 tables! I tried to get pictures of everyone, but when I went to the kitchen people were up getting seconds and I forgot to come back before they were done.

We had a great time visiting with everyone! I hate that our trips to Chicago have to be so short!
Stay tuned for details and pictures (and a video) from our trip downtown to see Santa!
