First Field Trip

Yesterday, I was able to accompany Brody's preschool class on a field trip to the pumpkin patch! He is really becoming Mr. Independent, and I don't think he really want me there...I was able to steal a few hand holding moments, but he was happy to be there with his teachers and classmates. He rode the bus there and I drove myself. He told me last week that he didn't want me to ride the bus, so I cooperated and drove my own car. We were in the classroom waiting for everyone to arrive and when the teacher announced that it was time to get on the bus, his little face lit up and he looked right at me with the biggest smile. He was the only one in the class to react that way. I think riding the bus was the highlight for him. Some of the kids in his class ride the bus to school everyday, so it was nothing new to them. I ruined his fun by driving him home after the field trip instead of letting him ride the bus back to the school. He was bright red and had tears rolling down his face. Worst mom ever is probably what he was thinking. He's usually a pretty laid back kid, but I guess I really made him mad. I knew I had to make it up at lunch, so I took him to Winsteads for a hot dog and strawberry milkshake. He loved it and forgot all about riding the bus :) Here are some pictures from our trip. I had to be careful about what I post because I'm not supposed to post pics of the other kids in the class on the Internet. He didn't hang out alone the whole field trip like these pictures suggest...I have a few more with some of his friends in them :)

These piglets are 2 days old! There were more than those 4, the rest were hiding behind her. She got kind of grumpy about all of us watching and being so close to her babies! She grunted and rolled over (I think on top of some of her babies). Brody and his friends all jumped back! It was kind of startling!

I think they could do a field trip where the kids just ride the bus around town for a couple hours. They all love that bus, don't they? I love the pic of him walking down the path in the field. So sweet!

When we went the day before the mama pig had all 14 piglets feeding on her so she couldn't have moved if she wanted to! She is super mom.
