Most Totally Awesome Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are supposed to be a knock off of the Levain Bakery in NYC Chocolate Chip cookies. I've never been there, but they are apparently the best. I'll have to make sure to try them next time I go. I flattened mine out a little bit. You're supposed to roll them in balls and bake them, but I felt better flattening them a little. OMG...these cookies are totally awesome. Heath agreed that they might be the best we've ever had.

Ingredients:
  • 2 sticks cold and cubed unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In bowl of electric mixer with the paddle, cream together butter and sugars until well blended and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mix in vanilla and beat until well incorporated.
  • Add flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and mix until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  • Place on sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven 15-20 minutes. (15 minutes was perfect for the top sheet, 2 extra minutes for the bottom)
This recipe made 15 large cookies. I think next time I will make them smaller so that I am not tempted to eat the entire thing...
