Embrace the Camera: Happy Bastille Day!

Seven years ago today, I was sitting on a bridge over the Seine watching fireworks over the Eiffel Tower and probably drinking red wine straight from the bottle! I was studying in Paris for the summer. It was one of the most memorable summers of my life! We had such a blast. I often think about how we managed to get around for 5 weeks with no cell phones, no gps, and very limited access to the internet in a foreign country! We did it! I spent a lot of money on calling cards to call Heath daily! We were newly engaged and I missed him soooo much, but these girls did a good job of distracting me because we had so much fun together! I wish I had a picture of us watching the fireworks, but I don't on my computer...and I am too lazy to dig out my discs in the basement. Here are a few I had on Facebook!

From left: Lindsey (also from K-State), me, Katie (from LA) and Lindsey (from Pennsylvania)
I'm pretty sure that all 3 of these girls are living it up in NYC while I'm home in Kansas with a husband and 2 kids!
Winery tour in the Loire Valley.

Watching the Tour de France! My parents sent us some American flags...I remember everyone being a little reluctant to wave them, but we were pretty conservative compared to some of the others we saw! It was fun to see Lance win #7 (I think).

And here we are with a few of the guys in the group. I feel so lucky to have been able to spend the summer with such a fun group of people from all over the country.

I'm linking up with Emily today!

Fun! My days of traveling around Europe seem long ago and far away from life with 3 little ones...but you've revived some fun memories today. And of course I am so thankful to be here, now, in this different and wonderful kind of life! :)
