4th of July...only a little bit late!

I am FINALLY getting around to posting about 4th of July! I've had the photos edited for over a week...that's usually my excuse.

We rushed back to town and went straight to Howard and Janis' for the Stilwell parade. We were worried about the road being closed, so we went straight there...wave runner and all! As soon as we got there, we ate dinner and then got settled in to watch the parade. I was surprised to see very few politicians! It was kind of nice...I think there was 1 in the whole parade. Lots of churches, a few family floats, some small businesses, and a couple protesting Overland Park annexing Stilwell. Those were my favorites!

Getting both of them to look at the camera is such a challenge!

Madelyn's first tootsie pop...how many licks does it take? Not many...she was putting her new teeth to use for sure!

 

This is where Brody started to feel bad. He ended up having a fever and wanted to go home. Right before we got in the car he threw up. Poor guy! He must have been fighting off some virus. Luckily he wasn't sick for long. His fever was gone after taking some Motrin. I stayed home with him on Tuesday just to be sure, but he was definitely back to his normal self!

This float said "Can't you spell? There's no OP in Stilwell." Pretty funny!

I posted this one last week, but I just love it!

Since Brody was sick, we ended up skipping out on the fireworks show. It was the first thing he talked about when he woke up. I think he was a little bummed even though they make him nervous!

I can't believe we're at the middle of July! We go on vacation in just a few weeks! I can't wait! I NEED some time off!
