St. Louis Day 1

Last weekend we took a road trip to St. Louis to celebrate Father's Day! I can't believe it never dawned on us to meet my parents in St. Louis before. It's about half way for each of us, and an easy 4 hour drive. I say easy now, but on Sunday afternoon I would have told you differently. Madelyn does not do well in the car. We're heading to Chicago in about a week and a half and I think that I will have to turn her car seat around regardless of what they say. She was not a happy camper, and we are doubling our travel time. Stay tuned for more on how that turns out for us :)

We met my mom and dad at Magic House as soon as we got into town on Friday. We spent a couple of hours there before checking into our hotel. It was such a neat place! It was really crowded and there was a lot of stuff that was over the kids' heads, so I think we'll definitely have to make a trip back there in a couple of years.

There was so much to do, and I took a ton of pictures...here are some of my favorites:
Art room- painting on an electronic canvas. Pretty cool!

Brody loved all of the tunnels and slides!

Construction area. He didn't want to actually sit in the seat for some reason.

Madelyn was working this wheelbarrow!

Brody building a car for the time trials.

Musical chairs with Papa!

Grocery Shopping! This was my favorite part of the children's museum when I was a kid.

The nursery! I loved this, and so did both of the kids.

Brody changing the baby's diaper.

After the Children's Museum we headed back to our hotel to relax and get ready for dinner. Our hotel had free popcorn and pop in the afternoons. They also had free cocktails and hot appetizers from 5:30 to 7:00! Brody was a big fan of it all.

Our hotel was right across the street from Union Station, so we took a walk over there to get the kids out of the hotel for a little while.

We ate dinner at Lombardo's Trattoria. It was fantastic and happened to be on the lower level of our hotel! From what I hear, St. Louis has it's share of great Italian food, and this place is definitely one of them!

Madelyn was a little hard to contain in her first white table cloth experience. Notice the crayon mark below her left arm? And she insisted on holding the cup herself! Scary stuff.

Brody was really tired. Neither of them took a nap all day. We fed Brody and Madelyn during the hotel's happy hour, so at the restaurant Brody ate some Spumoni ice cream, and Madelyn ate bread.

Stay tuned for day 2!
