Embrace the Camera: Sandbox!

It's been a while since I've participated in Embrace the Camera. In fact, I feel like I've been slacking on the blog a little bit over the past couple of weeks! It's been a busy summer here so far. I can't believe that we are coming up on 4th of July weekend! It's going by way too fast if you ask me...this is our last summer before we have a kid in school for a really long time! At least from now on, maybe summer will actually feel like summer? Maybe? When you don't have an official summer break, it's hard to really recognize summer. Oh well, speaking of summer...we have added one more attraction to our backyard playground...sand!

Last week, uncle Billy pulled up to our house with a load of sand for our sandbox!
It took a few minutes for our city kids to get used to being barefoot and getting dirty...
In fact, this one still hasn't gotten used to it.
Luckily for them, the sandbox is small enough that you don't have to actually get in to it to play.
Daddy took some time to show Brody how much fun it is to play in the sand!
While Madelyn showed us that she's not afraid of anything...
Eventually Brody figured out that playing in the sand really is fun!
And we had a hard time bringing him in that night!

Thanks uncle Billy for thinking of us and bringing the sand over!

I'm linking up with Emily. This morning I re-read the rules for embrace the camera and noticed that Emily emphasies including YOU (me) in the pictures (is that what it always said?)...from now on, you will see me in these photos. I cheat a lot and include Heath...I guess I'll get myself back out in front of the camera :)
