We didn't let the wind keep us from enjoying the 91 degree weather, though! We soaked up some vitamin D all afternoon! Heath mowed the lawn for the first time, Brody played some baseball and jumped on the trampoline and Maddy and I rode on the swings. It was so great to feel the warm sunshine!
Then, after the sun went down, a cold front moved in and the temperature dropped about 30 degrees in a matter of a few minutes. We had the kids in bed and Heath and I were working on putting our new desk together. We heard some thunder, so we decided it was probably time to shut the windows. I'm glad we didn't wait! Within 10 minutes of getting the windows shut, we had one of the worst hail storms I've ever seen! I have never seen hail so big, fall for so long, so fast! It was crazy! There were golf ball sized hail stones bouncing 10 to 15 feet off our driveway. I was sure we were going to have broken windows! Luckily we didn't, but we did have some major roof damage, some siding damage, and some damage to our brand new swing set! Oh, and we still have our Christmas lights up, so some of them were knocked off into the yard. (Maybe Heath will learn his lesson to not keep the lights up until APRIL!) When we went outside to survey the damage this morning, we found wood shingles all over our yard. We needed a new roof and siding anyways...I hope our homeowner's insurance is feeling generous!
