Lent makes me think of 1 thing (in addition to the real meaning, of course). And that 1 thing is Tuna Melts. I love 'em. It's the only time all year that I don't feel bad making the house smell like tuna because I have a good excuse...I can't eat meat.
So for Lent this year, I wasn't going to give anything up. I was just going to make it to mass every Sunday and on the Holy Days and go to confession. But then I really started to think about how annoyed I am with the information overload that I deal with every day. I decided I am going to give up Facebook. I have never figured it out for real, but I probably spend hours each week on Facebook. Those hours could be used doing more productive things. I will keep my page active, and I will continue to post my blog posts to my wall, but that is it! I will not check messages, I will not look at my feed, nothing! So if you want me to know about something, you'll have to email me, comment here, text me, or call me! I hate the idea of missing out on knowing things because FB has been my way of keeping in touch with friends. But it's only 40 days. Think about how Jesus spent his 40 days!
I'm removing the app from my phone, which is where I check it most often anyways.
Anyone else joining me?
I'll keep you posted on how it goes...
