Weekend Wrap Up

Our weekend started on Friday night, with dinner and shopping at Costco. We spend many Friday nights at Costco! Maddy is now big enough to sit in the seat in the cart with Brody. They really enjoy sitting next to each other. They spend a lot of the time hugging, but also a lot of time picking on each other.

After shopping, we got some dinner. Brody and Maddy shared a piece of pizza...and they finished it! I had a very small bite of their pizza. The pieces are huge! And then, after dinner, Brody wanted to get some frozen yogurt. Maddy loved it! It was her first time having ice cream!

After Costco, we headed to Walmart to pick up a few things. After Walmart we headed home to take baths. We picked up some Toy Story bubble bath. Ironically, the first night in a while we used bubble bath, someone pooped in the bath tub! I'm pretty sure it was Maddy, I'm just surprised I didn't see it happening. They both look so innocent, don't they?

This one is a wild woman in the tub! She wants to stand all the time! I keep forgetting to pick up a non-slip thing. We had one when Brody was her age (of course), but I got rid of it once he was past this stage because it was such a pain when it came to cleaning.
After the bath when the kids were in bed, I bleached all the toys and the tub. It probably needed to be done anyways.

Friday night, I started working a little more on the kids baby books. I started working on them back in September and hadn't worked on them since. Here is what I have so far:

Saturday morning, I cut Heath and Brody's hair. Brody's hair was getting pretty long...I could put it in a pony tail!

Around lunch time we brought the kids out to Heath's mom and dad's for the afternoon so that we could get started on a little spring cleaning. So we dropped them off and had a quick lunch date at Chipotle (not really quick...it took an hour after we waited in line and ate). Then we headed home and tackled this:

I would post after pictures, but they are deceiving...We found some things I forgot I had, started a good garage sale pile, dug out the clothes for the consignment sale that I forgot I had already tagged (the sale is next weekend), and created some space for Heath to do his P90X.

Saturday night, we went out to eat at Snead's with Melody and Dave for Melody's birthday. It was a good time. Both kids were pretty well behaved. Maddy sure had plenty to eat! I think she probably ate more than Brody!

Sunday morning, I woke up with plenty of time to get ready for church. I got in the shower and got ready. Then Brody woke up and he was not feeling so well. Brody was really bummed when we told him he was too sick to go. He had Heath wipe his nose and he said "OK, I feel better, we can go to the nursery." He's hilarious these days. Both kids have had a pretty bad cough for a few days now. I decided he was too sick to go to the nursery and I wasn't in the mood to go to mass alone, so we skipped. I spent a lot of the morning tagging more clothes for the consignment sale.

I had my last volleyball game with my work team. We won our first games of the season! We sent into the games today 0-42! We played a team that was 4-38. We won the first game of the series! We were so excited! We didn't know what it was like to win! It felt pretty good. We won the 3rd game, but lost all of the others (we play 6 at a time). The team is playing in the next session, but I opted out. I need to clear a thing or two from my schedule, and this was an easy one to cut. I really enjoyed it, and I might do it again down the road.  I had never played volleyball before, and I wasn't as bad as I thought I would be. Last weekend, Heath and Brody came to watch the game and Heath said that I need to jump. I'll remember that for next time.

Tonight I made Runzas. They were fantastic! Maddy cried at my feet the whole time...she likes my undivided attention these days. I managed to keep her busy with plastic cups and styrofoam bowls.

While I cooked, Heath and Brody put Maddy's table and chairs together. My mom and dad bought this for her for Christmas and it just arrived last week! It kept getting put on backorder. It turned out pretty cute!

Maddy tried corn on the cob for the first time! She really liked it. She ate almost the whole thing!

Yes, she's wearing her pjs. She wore them all day because she never left the house.
We had some thunderstorms tonight and Brody was pretty freaked out. I couldn't believe it! He hasn't ever shown any reaction to them before.

After both kids went to bed, Heath and I watched the Oscar's while I worked on tagging more clothes for the consignment sale and enjoyed a glass of merlot.

So glad Natalie Portman won! I loved her in Black Swan. Not sure what I think about Anne Hathaway and James Franco as the hosts...not sure if it was really them or the new producers.

We were pretty productive this weekend. Looking forward to a few free weekends coming up. We have a couple closets and dressers that need to be cleaned and organized!
