Other party details

I forgot to include Maddy's invitation in the birthday party post!

The inspiration for the party was a bib that Julie got her for Christmas.

I had planned to do a lady bug/Valentine's theme for the party, but when she bought her the bib, I decided to change the theme. Since owls are in right now, I found a cute one in the Silhouette online shop and started cutting away. Then I started gluing...and I quickly changed my mind about making them by hand. So I started playing around in Photoshop to see if I could create my own owl. I wasn't happy with anything I came up with, so I got a great idea to cut out a different owl that I had downloaded (it was only one piece), scan it and use it as my owl for the invitation. So it was kind of luck that I found all of the coordinating colors for the party. It all started with the bib. Then at Walmart, in the scrapbook section, I found a book of cardstock papers that matched the colors exactly! After I decided I was not going to go ahead with hand-making the invites, I picked the generic pink, lime green, aqua and yellow-orange in Photoshop. I printed it and it turned out to be a perfect match to the colors! Then, we were at Costco and the had a big display with ribbon...I think 50 yards of wired ribbon for $6 or something ridiculously cheap like that. They had one that matched exactly! Then I had an idea to make her a birthday hat. I couldn't decide exactly what to do, so I loaded the family up and went to Hobby Lobby. I had picked up a piece of felt and some fringe trim (which matched again). I was kind of at a loss at that point...until I went to the silk flower section where I found the green daisy with the rhinestone center and the huge blue feather! There was a whole end-cap with pink, lime green and blue stuff! I had to hold myself back. I only bought what I needed for the hat. Anyways...I love how everything turned out!

I also made a cute bunting with my Silhoutte, but I spelled her name wrong! I had to glue them backwards, so I laid it all out and apparently flipped the Y with the N...I didn't notice until Sunday morning, after the party! Oops!

And the cupcakes...lots of people have asked about them, so here you go...
