Since yesterday's post was only about Brody...today's is all about Madelyn! I can't believe that she'll be one next month! She has turned into such a sweet little girl and we are so blessed! She's been saying Mama and Baba (bottle) for a while now, but last week she finally said Dada. Heath has been working on it for weeks! He was pretty jealous when our Parents as Teachers lady told us that Dada is a lot easier for them to say than Mama. She said it one morning when we were off work and Heath was still in bed sleeping. I brought her into the bed and she said it like she was trying to get his attention. It was so sweet. And we're pretty sure she says hello and I love you...She says something like "ahwaooo" but when she says it, she leans in like she's giving a hug. It's the sweetest.
She is a busy girl! She is always interested in what Brody is doing and isn't scared to get up close to figure it out. She tackled the stairs the other day, but hasn't tried again. She got up one stair and got scared and lost her balance when I noticed and gushed about it.
Luckily I was right there to catch her! I am in no rush for her to tackle the stairs. That's one of the worst things about living in a split level house. She's been crawling on all fours for a little over a month. Up until then, she had mastered the army crawl. Brody crawled right at 9 months, so they are pretty much right on the same track. (oops...forgot this is only about Madelyn) She started pulling up on things about 2 weeks ago.
She tries to stand up in the middle of the room, but once she gets her butt up the air she doesn't know what to do next. I'm sure it won't be long before she's walking.
She is a really good eater! We started her on table food quite a bit sooner than Brody. He didn't eat too much before he was 1. He had an over-active gag reflex, and there was a lot of choking! (oops...there I go again with Brody)
She pretty much eats what we're eating as long as it doesn't have too much sugar or if I think it will upset her stomach. I think it's easy to say her favorite food is bananas, and she doesn't care too much for veggies, but she will eat them. She still eats infant cereal for breakfast and has some YoBaby yogurt once a day. It's amazing how well she does with her 2 teeth!
That's just a little bit about what Maddy's up to these days! (And yes...she is wearing snowman pjs with an Easter bib)

That's my grandddaughter! Precious, sweet, darling, absolutely amazing at trying new things and giving it a shot. She tries very hard to be included in what the little guys are doing. But all she has to do it give you that smile and wins you over. So yes, she is pretty special.
