On the morning of Brody's last t-ball game, Heath decided to go for a run. When he was about finished the left side of his face went numb. He came home, showered and the numbness came and went. We went on with our day and didn't think much of it. I went to my haircut and we were headed up to the farmer's market. On our way there, the numbness came back and we decided it was probably a good idea to head to Urgent Care. We were worried he was having a stroke! They did all the tests and hooked him up to an EKG just to be sure. All was clear and they determined that he had Bell's Palsy. Luckily, we caught it really early and they got him on a steroid right away, so he didn't have to deal with much facial paralysis. We heard all kinds of stories from friends, and realized just how lucky he was!
So after a few frantic e-mails and phone calls, we got the t-ball team set up for us to not be there. After we left the doctor's office, we stopped at home to eat a {late} lunch and made it to the t-ball game about 30 minutes late. Brody was able to play the field and bat one more time.
After the game, Heath handed out trophies and we went to get some frozen yogurt with some of the kids from the team. Heath told all of the parents that he would coach again, so we have many more years of fun ahead of us, I'm sure!
