Back to normal???

Whew! What a crazy couple of weeks. We're hoping that we can finally get back to normal this week, but I hate to speak too soon! After 2 weeks of being out due to the stomach flu and the snow, we thought we were back on track last week. Until Madelyn got a runny nose and fever on Wednesday night. We just thought it was a bad cold and didn't want to rush to the doctor for a cold...it turns out she had Influenza B! So much for the flu shot! She's been fever free since Wednesday, and they say they aren't contagious after 4 days, so she's back at daycare today. I'm just waiting to get a call about Brody (or Heath...or myself). Fingers are crossed for sure! We made it all winter without even any colds.

Poor baby! Can't you see it in her eyes :(
Before this round of illness, we tried to lead a normal life. We went to the church fish fry last weekend.

Then on Saturday, Heath and I used up a gift card and groupon that were close to expiring!

On Tuesday my moms' group had a speaker about price matching at Walmart. I'm not crazy about shopping at Walmart, but she convinced me to give it a try. We do go there about once a week, but I prefer to support our local grocery store for the majority of our groceries. Well, after the savings I got on Friday night at Walmart, I might be a convert. Her website is KCStrategicShopping.com. She basically goes through all of the grocery store ads and compiles a list of what's on sale elsewhere. Takes it to Walmart to verify that it actually is a good deal. If it is, she puts it on her list. Then for a small subscription fee ($5 a month), you can go to her website, choose the items you want to price match then it will print a list for you. Then all you have to do is bring the list into the store with you. That's it. Walmart doesn't require that you have the ads with you to price match, so you just tell them what the price is elsewhere, and they manually type in the price. So easy! I was at Walmart for 2 hours on Friday night, but I think it will get better as I do it more. I spent $100, but I saved $36! And there were about 10 items that I didn't price match. I did go to price chopper to get our meat, and we picked up milk at Costco, but other than that, it was pretty easy.

She offers a 30-day free trial, so I encourage you local people to try it out!

Besides trying to not get sick, that's about all we've been up to lately. We're planning a trip down to the lake this weekend. We might even go buy our Silver Dollar City season passes and hit it up this weekend. It opens for the season on Friday! The weather should be in the 70s, so it will be perfect!

Have a great week!
