Snow Day #2 (or Day #7 at home...)

Snow storm #2 started late last night. We already knew we'd be home today because both of us had the blessing to work from home due to the snow, but also because Brody was running a fever yesterday. Luckily, he's been symptom free for 24 hours, so we will be back to our routine tomorrow.
After the first round of snow ended...around 11:00 this morning.

I have mixed feelings about it all. I'm so excited to get back to our routine. I've been home for an entire week, but I didn't use my time the way I would have liked to if I had chosen to be home for those days. Between working, giving sick kids plenty of cuddles, preparing meals, cleaning up puke, lysoling, doing laundry, dishes, shoveling the driveway, keeping Madelyn out of the pantry...it was a crazy week, that's for sure. The house is a wreck right now. Most of the week the sink was full of dishes until after dinner, and I am having trouble keeping track of which laundry piles are clean and which are dirty. The good news is, the kids are well, and Heath and I are still symptom free. I have never used so much Lysol, Clorox Wipes and hand sanitizer in my life! I also managed to get more work done that I think I would have done in the office. There is just something about being at home that helps me to focus more. I wrote and designed my entire newsletter, wrote 6 blog posts, planned blog posts through October, and worked on my marketing plan for the next sales cycle. Woot! Pretty pleased that I was able to keep up with it all.

But, just for fun and memory's sake...I took a few iPhone pics of the reality that was this week.
Meals were eaten in the living room.

Playroom desperately needs to be picked up.

Kitchen is a mess!

PJs on the floor, clean laundry basket that didn't make it all the way up

Toys all over the floor. Heath's laptop is set up on the kitchen table (we NEED a new dining table ASAP! It would have been nice if both of us could have fit there to work!)

And here was my workspace for today. Throughout the week I moved from the chair to the bed to the couch.

And this little one wanted more of mommy's attention than I could give her. She spent some time behind my cushion watching something on the iPhone.
So there you have it. Life is getting back to normal for us. The cleaning lady comes on Friday, and I couldn't be more thankful! The house needs it! I'm also planning some family fun time for this weekend. We have Brody's school carnival, and I think Heath and I might be able to sneak away for a date night (we have a Groupon that's about to expire)!
