30!

So, a little over a week ago, I turned 30! It came and went so quickly. I realized a few weeks ago that it was close. I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Big party? Just us? I opted for a nice dinner out with the kids and Julie & Billy and then Heath and I went to dinner and the Kauffman center on Saturday. It was perfect.

I didn't take many pictures of the day. Here we are out to eat on Friday night. We went to Carlo's Copa Room. It's kind of far away, but I'd heard it was good. And it was! It was a good choice. It was a good balance of nice restaurant and kid friendly.
The waiter let Brody grate his own Parmesan, which he thought was pretty cool!
After dinner we went back to our house for some 3 Women and and Oven cupcakes from Julie! They were delicious!
On Saturday we had date night! I have wanted to go to a show at the Kauffman center since it opened. I can't believe it actually took me this long to go. When we were trying to decide what to do for my birthday, I looked to see if there was anything going on that night, and the musical, Hair, was in town. I'd never seen the show before, so I was excited to see something new. The only tickets left together were up in the top level. I'd heard that there wasn't a bad seat in the house, and they were right! At the end of the show the main character came up and finished the finale right next to my seat! It was awesome!

I jumped on the Vine bandwagon. I'm not really into it yet, but it is pretty cool. I took a couple videos that night.
And a self pic of us in our seats...it was dark.
For dinner we tried Grunauer. I've wanted to go there for a while, and I'm so glad we decided to go that night. The food was fantastic. And it's in the freight house, which makes the atmosphere fun. Heath had a 3-Sausage combo, and I got the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel.

And here is Vine video #2 from dinner:
We actually went to dinner before the show, so we were sort of a minority at the restaurant. I was trying to figure out if people our age just don't go out for German food, and then I realized we had a reservation for 5:00. I think it's just that people our age don't go out for dinner at 5:00!
