Last year, I signed Brody and I up to ring the bells for the Salvation Army. It didn't go as well as I had planned. It was disaster, really, and I ended up there by myself for the 2nd hour of our shift. This year, I roped Heath into doing it with me, and we had a lot of fun. The kids did great for the first hour. The second hour included a lot of bribes for popcorn, cookies, a trip to the Disney Store... But we made it through, and made a good memory. We also got a lot of compliments for what we did and starting them so young, so that was nice, too :)
We lucked out with the weather (and the spot). It was pretty chilly, but we were in front of a door with a lot of traffic, so we felt the heat from inside almost constantly. I think we'll do it again next year, but we might be looking for someone to split a shift with. Two hours is a little tough!

I love this idea! If you are still looking to split a shift next year, send me a message.
