We splurged and got 3rd row tickets. I found a lady selling them on Craig's List for $300. I thought it was a great deal because she told me that she paid $600 for them...the couple behind me said that they paid $55 each for their tickets. Oh well, they were great seats and I am totally spoiled now!
Chris Young & Jerrod Neimann opened the show. They both put on a great show. The lady I bought the tickets from said she was going to see Jerrod, and I don't blame her. He was really great and not hard to look at! The lady in front of us was there to see Chris Young. He has one of the best voices I've heard in Country music, but he was pretty sweaty. Only downside to good seats, I guess!
Miranda's girl group, the Pistol Annies were traveling with her, so they preformed a few songs too. They sing really well together. I am a big fan of more folk/bluegrass type country, so they are one of my favorites right now.
It was a great show! It had been a long time since Heath and I had been to a concert. I looked up prices for the Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw show coming up, but I think we'll have to pass...especially since I now need to sit in the first 5 rows!
Before the concert, we had dinner at Johnny's Tavern in the Power & Light District. We wanted to sit outside, and it was the only place that had a patio table open. The food was good though!
After the concert, we met up with Christie, Tammy and Greg and Andi for a beer in the P&L courtyard. We didn't stay too long though. I was starving, so we headed to Town Topic for some greasy food. I have always wanted to go there, especially after Anthony Bourdain featured it on No Reservations a few weeks back.
Oh my was it delicious. I will definitely be back there.
No, it didn't do much for my weight loss goal, but it was worth it! It's not like I eat like this every weekend, right!
