Santa pics 2011

Here are our official Santa pictures for 2011. I talked about our first attempt last week at Macy's in Chicago. I purchased the download of the photo and I haven't posted it yet, so here it is!

I was so bummed that Madelyn didn't sit on his lap, but I didn't want to push it too hard. Yesterday after church, I braved the pancake breakfast alone with the kids. Santa was there, and so I asked Madelyn if she wanted to see him. She said yes, but then when I asked if she wanted to sit on his lap, she said no. The line was really short, so we went ahead and stood in line. She was fine until we got up there and then she had a death grip on me. I finally got her to calm down and she looked at the camera. It's not the best, but I got my picture, so I'm happy!

A funny thing I forgot to share after our first trip to see Santa is that Brody wants something that Santa hadn't already purchased...and Santa was done with Brody! I asked him for weeks what he was going to ask Santa for and we told me he didn't know, so we went ahead and got him some things we thought he would like. Well, he sat on Santa's lap and knew exactly what he wanted Santa to bring him. Cars that go 'round the track. OK...well, Santa didn't get that. Since this is the first year that I think he really gets it, Santa has to bring him what he asked for...especially since he's trying so hard to be such a good boy! So, Santa made a trip to Target to the cars that go 'round the track!

Besides missing Heath like crazy, we are doing well! I got a lot accomplished this weekend! I didn't set my expectations too high, so that helped! Poor Brody doesn't get when daddy will be back. He came into our room this morning and started crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was hoping daddy would be here. So sad...but I think the week will go by fast! Taking care of the 2 kids and the house by myself is exhausting!
