**I've decided to start a week in the life series of posts. Hopefully I can keep up! I'll begin with our weekend...this may be boring for anyone else who reads this, but I want to keep track of it and might make a yearly tradition of it so we can see how our daily lives change over time!
We had a great weekend! Fall came up so fast and I feel like this was the first weekend that we really took the time to enjoy it! We've had our windows open for about a month and it's been great! Heath got our electricity bill and said that we used a lot less in September this year compared to last year!
On Saturday morning Brody had swimming lessons and Whitney came over. I confessed that I have been really bad about sticking to the workout routine she set up for me. I've been ok with the diet, but I have been cheating quite a bit lately. There are so many great comfort foods that I like to make (and eat) in the fall! It's hard to avoid the starches at night. She took my measurements again. I've lost almost 2% of my body fat, 1/2 inch around my arms and 3/4 inch around my thighs. If I really did the workouts, I bet my results would be more impressive. I'm only down about a pound or two since we started though. I told her that I didn't want to take up any more of her time since I'm not a paying customer, but I wanted her to be there as a resource and to keep up with my measurements. If anyone in the area is looking for a personal trainer, I highly recommend Whitney. She knows what she's doing and is so easy to get along with!
Madelyn likes to work out with me. She does really great squats, push ups and sit ups. She will do a squat, take a few steps, do another squat, take a few steps, etc. She's hilarious. And then she'll walk around with her chest puffed out. I don't know where she got that from...she looks like she is imitating a body builder or something!
After Whitney left, I did a little bit of cleaning and we went to the grocery store. We had to make sure we were home in time to watch the Cats! It was a great game! We were sad to have turned down tickets! Heath's second cousin offered us tickets in the North End Zone but we needed a 3rd for Brody and couldn't find one for sale anywhere! It's a popular area!

| I love how she posed with her hands behind her back like she was supposed to. |
Brody and I spent some time out in the backyard enjoying the weather and we baked Monster Cookies with fall color M&M's. They are almost gone...

| Brody had Junior, his class pet, for the weekend. We were supposed to take him with us everywhere and keep a journal. We forgot him quite a few times, but we kept him busy all weekend! |
On Sunday we almost overslept for church! I signed Brody up for the 9:00 Little One's Worship thinking that it would be no problem for us to make it to. I don't know how late the kids would have slept if we had let them. Luckily, I woke up myself at 7:15. I needed to be in the shower by 7:30 in order to make it! I got ready really fast, so I went ahead and made the kids chocolate chip pumpkin waffles for breakfast. Brody wanted to sit in their kitchen for breakfast! That waffle maker is one of the best wedding gifts we received. It's beep has stopped working, but it still works like a champ. If it ever stops working completely, it is one that will be replaced. I would make waffles every Sunday if we had time!
After mass Heath and Brody ran Montana home (we were dog sitting for Melody and Dave while they spent the week in Branson). It was so nice to have a dog around the house, but I was quickly reminded how great it is to not have to mess with the dog hair! Brody really wants a dog, so I hope to not wait to long before we get another one.
While they were gone, I set Madelyn up with some snacks and I reorganized our pantry! I read in the church bulletin that they were doing an extra push for food donations with Thanksgiving coming up, so I decided to see what we had. I found a can of tuna that was expired...canned tuna has a shelf life of 5 years or something like that...and I had one that was expired. I also found that I had whole bags of sugar and flour which I just replaced because I thought we were out. Oops! Looks like we'll need to start making some more cookies!
When Heath got home he watched the Chiefs game (they actually won!) and I did some more cleaning. I finally dug the kids out of their playroom...it had gotten a little out of control! And we're scheduled to have a playgroup next Saturday, so it needed to be done!
Then we headed to the pumpkin patch...stay tuned for a post about that!
That's about it for our weekend! I'm looking forward to more laid back weekends now that summer is over. And I'm taking this 31 day cleaning schedule challenge to try to get myself on a schedule instead of being overwhelmed by trying to do it all in one day. I used to be able to do that, but it's impossible to do anymore. Clean Mama has it set up so that the weekend cleaning is very minimal...that's what I need!
