Well, today was finally the day!

On Monday we went to his classroom to drop off school supplies and he was able to play with some of his new friends!

| Brody and this little boy hit it off really well! I think they will be great friends. |

| Brody was really concerned about where the fish was...Miss Melissa said that he was still on vacation and that he'd be back in time for school. |
On Monday, I noticed that a couple other boys in Brody's class had the same backpack as him, so I called around to see if I could get his name embroidered quickly, and unless I wanted to pay $20 it wasn't going to happen. So, I went to Target and found him a baseball luggage tag to use to differentiate his bag. I wrapped it up and gave it to him as a "first day of preschool" gift. He LOVED it!
Even though he doesn't actually go to school until the afternoon, We had to take the obligatory photo of him in front of the house with his backpack!
Brody will continue to go to Miss Lisa's in the mornings and Heath or I will pick him up over lunch to take him to school. Then, Aunt Julie will pick him up on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Grandma Mallicoat will pick him up on Thursdays. We are so grateful to have the help so that we are able to send him to this program.

The first day was sort of abbreviated so that they could take the time to educate the parents, so Heath picked Brody and I up and we headed up to the school. Brody went to play in the classroom with the paras and we went to the parent meeting. We came back to the class to get him and he had been crying! He told me that the teacher shut the door on him. Apparently he tried to escape. I'm not surprised by this, because Brody has always been one to wander. What did surprise me is that the teacher acted like he was going to look for us...he couldn't shoo us out the door any faster! I'm not sure what it was, but I do know that the transition to no nap is going to be a struggle! Up until now, he had been taking a good afternoon nap everyday. The good thing is, I think we've seen a temporary break from our bedtime battles! When it's time to go to bed, he is ready for bed! I'll take it!
