Summer Vacation is booked!

Our summer vacation for next year is booked! We rented a 6 bedroom houseboat on Table Rock Lake for 4 nights. It should be a lot of fun! We'll be going with my mom and dad, Julie and Billy, Michael and Ethan, aunt Susie and uncle Mark and their 3 kids, Jill, Robby and Emily. I'm a little nervous about having the kids on a boat for that long, but I'm sure it will be fine. I know Brody will have a blast swimming in the lake. He had a great time when we went to Kentucky Lake in 2009.
I'm thankful that we have the opportunities to do these cheaper vacations while we're doing the Dave Ramsey thing. Dave says no vacations while you're getting out of debt, but with my family being far away, we have to do something to see them. I have a whole list of places I want to go...but I'm going to be patient! I'm getting pretty good at this whole delaying pleasure thing. It took a while, but I think I've finally become a grown-up.

Speaking of Dave Ramsey, Heath and I are getting ready to lead our second class at St. Michael's next week. We have about 12 couples signed up. Nothing near our 30 couple class that we led in 2009! That class started the course with $1.4 million in debt and ended with about $700,000. It was amazing how much they got after it. I think a big part of the motivation for that class was the timing. People were losing their jobs, and they were scared. We had people sell cars, boats and even houses! They made some huge lifestyle changes. It was a great experience for us and I hope that this one will be, too.  We like to stay involved because it helps to keep us on track. I don't know if we'll do it again after this. 13 weeks is a big commitment. And this is our 4th time going through it! We served as small group leaders for St. Michael's second round at the end of 2009.

And...after 3 years of saying we need it. We are finally getting life insurance, thanks to our good friend Pat. Now if we could just get that will notarized we'd be set. Is it that hard to take it over to the bank to get the thing notarized...no. Why haven't we done it? I don't know. Maybe that will be a good thing to do tomorrow. It's so comforting knowing that if something happened to one or both of us, it would be ok.

Heath and Brody have a fun afternoon planned. Heath is picking him up from daycare and they are going to Taco Bell for lunch and then they are heading to the OP Convention Center for Royal's Fanfest! Heath can't wait to take him. I'll have pictures to post tomorrow. Brody caught Maddy's cold, so he's not feeling too hot, but I'm sure he'll have a great time. Tomorrow he has his second dentist appointment and he will do t-ball at his 'sport'! I'm sure he's going to blow the teacher away with his baseball skills.
