It's been a while since I have been in a real work out routine. I was doing really good going to Jazzercise for over a year before Maddy was born. I went almost every morning at 5:40 and could definitely see the results. Then, when I got pregnant, I kept up with it for a few months until I just couldn't get out of bed anymore. I quit in October 2009. In October 2010 they were running a special...something like $70 for the last 3 months of the year, so I thought I'd get back into it. I went for about 2 weeks (not every day) then got a cold and took a week off and NEVER went back! I'm horrible. I just can't get up that early anymore. So now that I get an hour for lunch (as opposed to the 30 minutes I got at my last job), I have been going home since I'm only about 10 minutes from home. I had big plans to fold a load of laundry every day...yeah, I think that happened one time. What did happen is I would go home, make my lunch (usually leftovers from the night before) and while it was heating, I would have to have a snack, like chips and salsa or something. Then I would sit or lay down on the couch and watch TV. Then, when it was time to get back to work I was exhausted and ready for a nap. Well, this morning I signed up for Planet Fitness and went over my lunch break. It's about a 5 minute drive from my office, so the plan is to get there, change and do some cardio for about 30 minutes. Today I had to take a tour and get used to the place, so I only got in 15 minutes on the elliptical, but I think 30 minutes is totally doable. Julie has been going to Planet Fitness for a long time. Her and Ethan both worked there, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to join. It's only $10 a month! It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
We sold my elliptical last week because I am not the type of person who can get motivated to workout at home. Heath got it for me for Christmas right after we moved into the house since we stopped going to 24 hour fitness when we bought the house. I had used it maybe 20 times over those 4 years. What a waste of $$. I will never purchase new fitness equipment again! Heath has been doing P90x in the basement, and I was going to do it with him, but I just can't get out of bed at 4:45 to join him.
So anyways, I'm looking forward to getting back in shape and I think I have an accountability partner to help me get there every day. A girl from work has decided to join with me, so we'll go together every day! I kind of need that!
